Welcome to my blog! I am new at this, so go easy on me as I figure this out.
I have been crafting since I was a young child and received my first coloring book and crayons. I always loved playing with scissors and glue. I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago to showcase the wonderful times I had with my husband and stepdaughter. Now that my stepdaughter is 18, and no longer wants to go on outings with me and her dad anylonger (we are old now, LOL) I slowed down on scrapbooking and started to focus on making greeting cards and altered items. I wanted to use my paper crafting tools out trying to make gifts for people. My husband is my biggest supporter and has been bugging me for years to open a store. Well, I haven't opened a brick and mortar one yet, I have started selling items online and at craft fairs.
After much hard work by my friend Kim, her and I have formed a partnership and out of it, Country Kiss'd Treasures was born. Our site is now up and running and available to anyone who crafts and wants to sell online. We build your shop for you to sell all of your handcrafted items in. Check it out, www.countrykissdtreasures.com
As for the craft fairs, I was a vendor at my first one in December. Well, let me tell you, it was quite a learning experience. There were about 50 crafters and we were jammed into this tiny room. Being my first one, I had no idea what to expect. I sat there all day with my husband (who by the way, enjoyed it and plans to come to all of my fairs, aren't I lucky!) and made about $92.00.... It wasn't well advertised, but I had no idea what questions to ask when I applied for this show. I came home and jumped online and read.... and read.... and read. Now, I'm not saying that I have it all down pat, but I certainly did learn a lot from others online. I have expanded my line of craft items from 3 to about 23 and I have a list of other items I will be adding into the mix as time goes by.
I'm so excited, about my craft fair ventures for this upcoming year. My next show will be at the Netcong High School, Netcong, New Jersey on March 20, 2010.... I will be adding pictures to my blog of my table and my items for sale. I also have another fair on March 27, 2010 at Newton High School, Newton New Jersey. This fair is a combination garage sale/vendor show for the Class of 2011's Fundraiser.
And my further out shows are:
May 1, 2010 - Sussex County Technical School, Sparta, NJ
May 15, 2010 - St. James School - Gouverneur, NY
July 17, 2010 - Tupper Lake Street Fest and Business Expo, Tupper Lake NY
